Ecological importance
This site in Goonengerry (Cromwell Farms) is important for the restoration of tributary of the Wilson's Creek that runs through and around the site. The creek system has been severely degraded from cattle farming and contains limited areas of regenerated riparian rainforest. Reforesting along the creek is essential for the depth and all year round flow of the creek that supports marine life, insects, mammals and various rainforest species.
Site considerations
The considerations made specific to the site were difficulty of access and steepness. The planning had to be meticulous so as to stop erosion of the creek bed and to ensure a safe planting site for our volunteers.
