ReForest Now’s volunteer rainforest tree nursery at the Mullum SEED site (adjacent to the Mullumbimby Community Gardens site in Northern NSW) was established in 2018 with the support of Santos Organics.

Since then, it has developed a strong and stable volunteer basis with 15-20 volunteers working there every week. It is constantly expanding and can produce upwards of 80,000 trees a year including several endangered species (such as small leaved tamarinds, pink underwing moth vine and birdwing vine).

The nursery is a key part of our work. Growing our own trees ensures we know where the seeds are collected from, how healthy and old they are when planted, and also enables us to engage the local community in our work through volunteer days.
