We’re now planting in North Sumatra, Indonesia!

245,000 trees have been planted in collaboration with local conservation groups, in one of the richest rainforest ecosystems in the world.

Gunung Leuser National Park is a global biodiversity hotspot - home to an unfathomable number of species - and the only place on Earth where orangutans, tigers, rhinos and elephants coexist in the wild.

2025: RN Establishes Three New Operational Bases Across Australasia

This year marks a major step forward for RN, with the establishment of three stable operational bases across the Australasian region. These new hubs reflect our growing capacity, regional commitment, and long-term vision for rainforest restoration.

These three new bases represent RN’s expanding commitment to ecological restoration, local livelihoods, and the future of rainforests in Australasia and beyond. As we continue to scale up, we remain deeply rooted in our mission: to restore native rainforests, protect biodiversity, and empower local communities.

2025 is our most ambitious growth year yet!

Warm regards,
Maximo Bottaro – CEO ReForest Now

In partnership with FAME, our Enrichment Program aims to boost diversity in established plantings and degraded forests. Guided by expert ecological assessments, we identify and plant the appropriate native species to enhance understorey layers and strengthen ecosystem resilience. By prioritising the reintroduction of endangered flora, the program plays a vital role in restoring forests to their full ecological function.

"Many Trees"

We've embarked on what might be Australia's largest and most diverse rainforest reforestation project. In close collaboration with the landholder, we have planted 290,000 trees of 192 native species.

Located in Northern NSW, the plantings extend from Booyong Nature Reserve - a remnant of the critically endangered "Big Scrub" ecosystem and home to an array of threatened flora and fauna.

We are proud of what we have achieved so far together, but our efforts continue - including the ongoing maintenance of these trees for up to 5 years.

In 2022, our region suffered from its worst flood in recorded history. It devastated our community and many staff lost their homes and possessions.

Thank you to our thoughtful partner, Talenza, for raising funds to aid and speed up the recovery of our flood-affected staff.

More than a third of NSW rainforest was hit by fire in the catastrophic 2019-20 season. Many old growth trees were burnt in ancient refugia and already vulnerable species were impacted.

Ecosia responded to this climate disaster by teaming up with us to replant fire-affected areas.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land we work on and thank them for protecting ecosystems since time immemorial.
