About the event
Have you ever wanted to get to know the native trees in your neighbourhood? Keen to learn some local edible species? Come spend the day with us at our nursery to learn from our plant expert Joey.
Workshop Program
9am-12pm
Rainforest plant ID
This workshop will give you the practical tools to identify local rainforest plants so you can get to know our local ecology and impress people with your newfound knowledge.
12pm-1pm
Lunch
Bring your own lunch, this might be the time to put those new ID skills to the test. Mullumbimby is also full of delicious cafés and shops if you want to explore what the locals have to offer.
1pm-3:30pm
Bush Tucker Walk
After lunch, Joey will take you on a bush tucker walk through Mullumbimby, where you will smell, taste and feel a wide variety of local edibles.
Who is this for?
Anyone keen to learn more about local rainforest plants is welcome. Friendly for people of all ages and abilities.
What to bring?
Water, sun protection, lunch, notepad and pen
You can take home your own bush tucker plants from the ReForest Now Nursery by donation at the end of the day.
